Life took Koech, a man from Uasin Gishu County, Kenya, on a challenging path. After facing setbacks following high school, he found himself pushing a handcart (mkokoteni) and later driving a boda boda (motorcycle taxi) to make ends meet. However, Koech’s story doesn’t end there. Thanks to a helping hand and his own determination, he recently graduated from military training and is now a proud Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) officer.
Koech’s life changed course when he met Uasin Gishu Governor Jonathan Bii Chelilim. Recognizing Koech’s potential, the governor provided him with the opportunity to join the military in October 2023. This marked a turning point for Koech, who attributes his success to divine intervention. “It’s God,” he says humbly. “Not by my own ability or my family’s.” [Tuko.co.ke]
Koech also expresses immense gratitude for the unwavering support of his partner, Mwho. He credits her for being by his side through thick and thin, even cleaning him up after long days of hard work. “If you find a dedicated and prayerful lady,” Koech advises, “don’t leave her after you succeed.”
Koech’s story is an inspiring testament to resilience and the power of opportunity. It highlights the importance of support systems, both divine and human, in overcoming challenges and achieving one’s goals. His journey from pushing a cart to defending his nation is a powerful reminder that hard work and determination can pave the way for a brighter future.
